THIS WEEK

OVERVIEW:  Students will read a short story – Rosa- and practice the four communication skills as well as review the past tenses – preterite and        imperfect. 

OBJECTIVES: 1.   SWD comprehension of new vocabulary by applying it to new situations (7.1 A, B)  2.  SWD comprehension of the story by answering questions and discussing ideas in groups (7.1 B)  3. SW use key words to retell parts of the story (7.1 B)  4. SWD proper use of the past tenses.                     

ASSESSMENT: 1.  Teacher observation of student participation and performance during oral and written activities

                             2. Quiz – the preterite and the imperfect – next week

 3. Homework assignments

á       Themes – age of technology, feeling awkward, sad, helpless and out of style

á       Speaking – class discussion

1. TBp. 20 - Group activity: In groups of 5 J - brainstorm useful vocabulary. How are machines a part of our daily life? Check the word bank. Find additional words useful to the activity. Collaborate to describe the picture and tell a story.  Take key notes or cues. Be ready to share with the class, incorporating the vocabulary.  

á       Think of a time or situation when you or someone you knew felt inadequate or helpless.  Make a list of the words that would help you narrate it (yes, en Espa–ol).

*Nuestra clase es en espa–ol.  Deja el inglŽs en la gaveta.  Si no lo practicas, no dominas el idioma.  Cuando trabajes en grupos, conversa en espa–ol. La Sra. aprecia el esfuerzoÉy te recompensa con mejores notas.
